On Friday our little Bradford rolled over without any encouragement or help....he's growing SO fast we can hardly beleive it. Bradford loves his brother and will want to do whatever he is doing.
Spencer got his first stitches on Saturday. Dad was up on the roof of the garage trying to finish up putting new shingles on so Mom took the boys for a walk....the usual route around the block. Spencer really likes walking on the curb, he calls it his special sidewalk. Well he missed a step and fell into the gutter, the curb was broken and he bonked his head just right that it split open just above his temple....it started bleeding like crazy, like head wounds do. Mom hurried and put pressure on it but then couldn't figure out how to get the poor little frightened Spencer and the now starving/screaming Bradford in the stroller home. So she ran down the street with Spencer under he arm until she could barely see Dad through the tree and called for help. We ended up over at the Urgent Care (thankfully) where Spencer was very brave, he got pretty mad at the doctor when they numbed it up...but three stitches, two suckers and an hour and a half later we were home and Spencer was so exhausted from crying/yelling that he zonked until the next morning. He was back to himself in the morning and couldn't wait to show all of his friends at Nursery is stitches....He is ALL boy! We are sure this is the first of many episodes of stitches...
That is the worst! The sad thing is Spencer will be walking on his special sidewalk again. Jack hit his head while jumping on the bed and one trip to the er later, he was jumping again. I however can not get the image of you with Spencer under your arms. The joys of motherhood and all the craziness that comes with it. Since Bradford is rolling over soon, just think what mischief and owies will come in the future! Hope everything is going better.
ReplyDeleteI just read this! Oh my gosh, girl! That is the worst! My oldest daughter was very, um, adventurous. She has had stitches, staples and head glue. All on her head. Sheesh! Glad you hear you guys are ok!
